ESTATE (WILLS)

An estate is the property owned, and debts owed, by the deceased person. In other words, when a person dies, all of his or her worldly property and debts become the "estate." The estate must be disposed of according to a Last Will and Testament or if there is no will, under the laws of intestate succession.
