How often can I talk to an attorney?
You can speak to an attorney by phone on an unlimited number of new personal or business legal matters (depending on the plan). That could mean every day or once a month, depending on the kinds of questions you have.
How long are the attorney consultations?
Each regular attorney consultation lasts 30 minutes.
What can I ask about?
Depending on the type of plan, you can ask personal or business-related questions. With the Personal Legal Plan, you can ask to have an attorney review your last will or living will. With the Business Legal Plan, you can ask what kind of business structure is right for you.
What if I need more time or have an ongoing legal matter?
If you have an ongoing legal matter such as a lawsuit, want the attorney to negotiate a contract with a third party, or have a complex legal issue that would fall outside of the 30 minute time limit, you can work with your plan attorney at a 25% discount on their regular hourly rate.
How do I start speaking with an attorney?
If you're ready to sign up, click on the Learn More link above the plan you're interested in. From there, you select your state and click Get Started. You'll be asked to create an account or sign in with your existing login and password. By creating an account, your information is stored in your Member Center. Select your term and enter your payment information and you'll be immediately directed to the Member Center. As you'll see, the Member Center is your dashboard for accessing all your plan benefits, including requesting an attorney consultation.
