Tell us a little about your product or service.
I am so proud of my product line! I have poured my heart and soul into developing what I feel, are the most unique herbal remedies available on the market today. I created the Herbaltini Just Add Vodka Tincture Kits to fill a niche in the health conscious community. The Italian glass jars filled with the roots, bark, stems, and berries, all precisely blended and made into a way that consumers could just add their own vodka, vinegar, or glycerin to make potent herbal remedies. The vodka is used to extract the most potent medicinal qualities out of the herbs, making the herbs more effective than in teas or capsules.
How did you start your company?
Completely by accident. I have been an herbalist and nutritional counselor for years, but it wasnt until my personal stock of herbs outgrew my home, that I began selling them online. Then, as my retail herbal business grew (www.TheHerbGoddess.com), so did my contact with people from all around the globe. I learned that the majority of health conscious consumers were looking to take control of their own health and they wanted to actively participate in the process of healing by making their own herbal remedies. I had been making custom blends for people and decided that I could make something that was not only effective and unique, but also beautiful.

What or who inspired you to go into business for yourself?Alarm clocks, pantyhose, and my children. If I never have to set my alarm clock or dress in office-wear again, I will forever be a happy person! I love working from my home office and workshop. I love being available to my family. I love not having a boss to answer to. Herbs are my passion and I am working my passion, how lucky am I?
What were some of the startup hurdles you overcame?
My biggest hurdle was financial. I used the household budget to develop everything from the products, to the website, to the marketing materials. Heck, thats how I stumbled upon LegalZoom, I was trying to save money on the legal stuff, and I certainly did! It would have been nice to have a few thousand dollars to get the Herbaltini product line up and going, hire a marketing firm, advertising agents, web designers, but that was not an option at the time. It certainly put a financial strain on our family, but with the blessing of my husband, I got it all done and we are so proud of the achievement.
How has LegalZoom helped you in starting up your business?
I have always been confident in my products and herbal knowledge, but when it comes to legal mumbo jumbo, I’m a true novice. LegalZoom gave me the confidence to move forward in an area that I didnt feel comfortable. They were available on the phone whenever I needed hand-holding and the education they provided for me was invaluable. Now I feel safe and protected.
