Job Description

LegalZoom.com is seeking an experienced Manager of Marketing Communications to join our Marketing team. The position will have responsibility for establishing the web content strategy, copywriting, overseeing content creation and acquisition, and managing PR initiatives and our PR agency relationship. We are looking for someone who combines excellent writing skills, the ability to develop strategic content initiatives, and effective management of projects and outside resources. Key internal relationships include the Creative Director, Vice President of Advertising, Director of Online Advertising, Web Producer, Product Group managers and Director of Social Media. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Create interesting, authoritative, and conversion-driven content relevant to the company's mission and products.
  • Produce content on a regular basis that accomplishes the program strategy, either directly or through the use of freelance writers.
  • Identify, secure, and manage relationships with strategic content providers.
• Ensure all online content adheres to branding standards and style guidelines.
• Thorough knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules and outstanding copyediting skills.
• Project manage content production processes, establishing and communicating timelines for deliverables to cross-functional team members.
• Oversee PR agency relationship and creatively develop PR opportunities to maximize consumer-focused press coverage.

• At least 5 years experience strategizing and executing online content for e-commerce business.
• Knowledge of Internet content behavior, such as "snacking" and short-form chunking of content, long-form research, and content ratings and sharing.
• Familiarity of writing for a variety of needs: newsletter, promotions, website, SEO, radio, TV, instructional videos.
• Experience writing and editing compelling copy.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail balanced by ability to see big picture.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with highly motivated team members.
• Ability to perform in a self-managed environment--must be a self-starter
• Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork
• Bachelor's Degree
