Ok my question is pretty simple we lived in Kansas for the last 2 years and filled everything as if we where married including taxes, yeah we still joke about getting married at H&R block (haha) anyway now we live in Nebraska who does not recognize common law marriages and tax time is coming around again we are wondering do we file married divorced or single, since the state we now live in does not recognize us as married? So I was hopping you could shine some light on the complicated tax laws for me.
