I work as an independent contractor through my own LLC for several companies, some of which compete with each other. My LLC owns the laptop I use while working on these job sites; but I often use the client company’s network to access the internet.
I would expect that they need software installed on my laptop to capture mouse clicks and screen shots; and seeing that they do not own the hardware it would not be legal for them to hack into my computer to view files or install software.
The question is can they legally capture e-mails sent to my laptop through their internet connection?
