You are absolutely correct! I have a judgment against someone who flat out stated he will not pay it. He owns nothing, and hardly makes any money. I had a wage garnishment served on one company he works part time at, and they essentially said get in line behind three other debtors! Then I served another company he's an independent contractor at. They didn't bother to answer the wage garnishment. I'm wondering if the company is liable for the money since they didn't bother to answer a legal document served on them requiring an answer in 15 days, or because he's an independent contractor, they don't have to?? They said they paid him a check a month ago, so does that make them liable for the wage garnishment?? Anyone know the answer to this question?? Thank you.
