Hi I want to file a small claims case against my former landlord. My landlord filed an unlawful detain er I went to court and the judge gave me 2 weeks to move out and at that time I would also be locked out. I was arrested a week later on unrelated charges and spent 8 days in custody in county jail. By the time I was released the lockout was in effect for 3 days and all of my personal belongings were still at the house I rented at for the past 7 years. I tried to get my belongings (with the help of the local police)back 2 days later willing to pay appropriate storage costs and my landlord denied me.He was already emptying the house in a huge dumpster. Can I sue him in small claims for refusing to allow me the chance to collect my property? Thank you in advance for your answer. Tommy
