The Process for Limited Partnership Formation

  • Complete our easy online questionnaire.
  • We prepare your formation documents.
    After we receive your payment, our specialists will review your information for completeness and common mistakes, and prepare your Certificate of Limited Partnership.
  • We file your documents with the appropriate government agency.
    In many states, we may not be able to sign the Certificate of Limited Partnership on your behalf. Instead, we will deliver it to you for signature. Once your materials are submitted, the document review period will vary depending on the state where you file. Non-expedited orders typically take about 20 to 35 business days to complete. Express Gold orders are completed in 7-10 business days.
  • We complete the optional Tax ID Number request.
    For your convenience, we can prepare your Tax Identification Number application for self-filing. Or, to make it even easier for you, we will obtain your Federal Tax Identification Number on your behalf, for an additional fee.
  • Your Certificate is accepted and your Limited Partnership becomes active.
    Your LP becomes active when the Certificate of Limited Partnership is accepted for filing with the state. Once we receive the filed Certificate, we will deliver it to you along with your limited partnership package.
