Aside from the directives you specifically include in your living will, there are a few other actions your healthcare surrogate cannot take:
- Placing you in a mental health facility
- Authorizing extreme psychiatric treatments or surgery
- Authorizing sterilization or abortion
- Authorizing any type of mercy killing
- Authorizing any act that exceeds the powers you authorized in your healthcare power of attorney
