A Northern California man recently filed a class-action lawsuit against Sony for alleged unfair business practices.

Following another class-action lawsuit filed against Sony that was recently dismissed, this one  was filed against the company for a no-lawsuit clause in a service agreement.

The plaintiff filed the lawsuit in November on behalf of all the customers who purchased PlayStation 3 gaming systems and signed up for PlayStation Network access before September, when Sony changed its terms of service agreement.

The Medea Vodka brand, which is endorsed by the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Fran Drescher and Meryl Streep, was recently handed a lawsuit by an investor who is unhappy with how the money he put into the brand was allocated.

The website Monsters and Critics reported investor Joseph Lehey put $7.5 million into the Medea Vodka brand in hopes of getting the money back, plus more, thanks to strong sales.

On October 10, California Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 22, a law preventing employers from running credit checks on most prospective workers. Advocates of the law argued that it would prevent discriminatory hiring practices against unemployed people whose credit suffered while they did not have a job.

Since the California law was passed, civil rights and labor groups have petitioned one of the nation's three major credit reporting agencies, TransUnion, to stop selling credit reports to employers.

The celebrity owners of Shin's Korean BBQ in Los Angeles have been sued by two former employees who allege they were not given breaks or properly paid.

Gilberto Hernandez, a former Shin's cook, and Eder Martinez, a former dishwasher, say they were not paid overtime wages and were denied legally-mandated rest breaks during their shifts.
