Actor Wesley Snipes was hit with a lawsuit recently in Orange County, Florida, by American Express, which alleges he owes $29,343 in bills.
Snipes is being sued by the credit card company as he's serving a three-year prison sentence at Pennsylvania's McKean Federal Correctional Institution, which started in December 2010, for failing to file tax returns on millions of dollars worth of income.
The lawsuit states that Snipes accumulated the bill before he was sentenced to prison.
On top of American Express filing to receive the money for Snipes' bills, the companis is also requesting Snipes pay its attorney fees.
According to TMZ, Snipes promoted American Express as the character Willie Mays Hayes in the baseball movie "Major League," in which he told fans, "Don't steal home without it."
In addition to "Major League," Snipes has been in 57 other films and shows, for which he was nominated 10 times for awards and won awards eight times, according to IMDB.
