Workshops in Massachusetts to Aid Seniors in Writing Last Wills

Kendra Seavey of the Beverly, Massachusetts Council on Aging, recently scheduled a six-week workshop series that will assist seniors in a number of areas, including the creation of a last will, the Boston Globe reports.

By offering the seminars, Seavey has reportedly brought the government-sponsored initiative Embrace Your Future to fruition, the news source said.

The program was first designed as a way to give information to middle aged and older adults about planning for their future, according to the Globe. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick first announced the program in January.

The six-week course at the Beverly Council on Aging, which is called "Charting Your Course: Planning Options for Your Future," will cover a wide range of topics including lifestyle, legal matters, financial management and planning for the future, the news source said.

"Some people think they don’t need to think about all of these things, but I would encourage them to be a part of the whole six week class," Seavey told the news provider. "There is definitely plenty they can learn from it. You never know what is going to happen."
