Denise Richards, star of Wild Things and The World is Not Enough, has adopted a baby girl, Eloise Joni.
Richards, the ex-wife of former Two and a Half Men star, Charlie Sheen, named the baby after her mother who passed away from cancer in 2007.
Richards started the adoption process nearly two years ago but kept it secret.
"Some people think if a celebrity wants a baby, they get one the next day," Richards told Us Weekly magazine. "The adoption took two years, and there were times I felt discouraged, times when I got close to adopting a baby and it fell through. But I knew the right baby would find us."
Richards has two girls from her marriage with Sheen. Lola, six and Sam, seven, and said she still keeps in touch with the troubled television star whom she divorced in 2006.
Richards added that she and Sheen talk every day and that he has met her newly adopted baby girl.
"(Eloise Joni has) brought so much joy, and I love her to pieces," Richards told the news source. "She loves being hugged and held. She's such a beautiful little baby and little soul."
