When a celebrity gets married, the notion of longevity is rarely addressed by the media. Hollywood may not be the best place to sustain a successful relationship, as the pressure and publicity that is created by the town can lead many famous couples to end their marriages in a divorce.
Director Jason Reitman has filed for divorce from his wife Michelle Lee after the couple ended their relationship of more than seven years, according to PopEater.
Reitman filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, the first step towards annulling the marriage. The pair cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, TMZ reported.
Jason Reitman is the son of "Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman, and has been nominated for two academy awards for his own directing work on "Juno" and "Up in the Air", reported Popeater.
The couple had a child together and had been married since 2004 before they decided to call off the marriage. They had been residing in California at the time of their split, and no announcement has been made concerning the custody of their child, according to the news source.
