According to People Magazine, comedian George Lopez and his wife have decided to end their 17-year marriage.
A representative for Lopez's current TBS television show "Lopez Tonight" told People that "the decision is amicable and by mutual agreement."
The couple, who married in 1993, have one child together, Mayan. According to the representative for the show, the couple's child and their charitable efforts remained top priorities.
"They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation," the representative told People.
In 2005, Ann Lopez famously donated her kidney to George, who needed it as a result of a genetic problem. Then 49-year old George Lopez told People at the time, "I can't pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married."
