Petra Ecclestone, the 22-year-old daughter of European Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone, has signed a prenuptial agreement to protect a reported $300 million fortune, according to The Daily Mail.
After Radar Online reported her parents pressured her to sign a prenup, Ecclestone told the Daily Mail that her entrepreneur fiance, James Stunt, suggested they draw up an agreement. She referred to the prenuptial agreement as a “sensible decision” that will protect Stunt’s “substantial assets” as well as her own.
Radar Online’s source said the heiress’s estates, including the Los Angeles mansion she bought recently for $85 million from the widow of Aaron Spelling, are held in the family trust, but belong solely to Petra, whose father saw to it she drafted an “ironclad prenup” to safeguard her wealth.
Recent reports indicate pop diva Jennifer Lopez and rock star Marc Anthony did not sign a prenuptial agreement, which means Anthony, worth a reported $40 million, could receive half of Lopez’s reported $150 million in assets in their divorce.
