Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian and her new husband, pro basketball star Kris Humphries, have completed the legal paperwork to finalize a prenuptial agreement, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The agreement will protect each party's assets in the event of a divorce, and each party has significant assets on the line. Kardashian is worth a reported $35 million and Humphries has personal assets of between $8 and $16 million. But Laura Zwicker, an attorney who spoke to the Reporter, said the prenup is just as much a protection for Humphries as Kardashian, even though her bank accounts are currently more flush.
Zwicker pointed out that Kardashian's fortunes might decline, given legal challenges she faces, including a lawsuit brought by Mobile Resource Card. Mobile Resource alleges Kardashian and her sisters owe the company $75 million in damages after walking away from a promotional deal.
Kim's sister Khloe also wed a basketball player, Lamar Odom, in 2009. The couple told RadarOnline they signed a prenuptial agreement, which according to Radar will provide $500,000 a year for Khloe should she divorce Odom.
