Girls Aloud Singer Demands Prenuptial Agreement

Nadine Coyle, the 25-year-old singer in the group Girls Aloud, reportedly wants a prenuptial agreement to make sure that her assets are not simply cut in half in case she ends up divorcing her husband to be.

Coyle, who is marrying New York Giants defensive back Jason Bell, has told him of her desire for the prenup, and Bell has not objected so far, a source told Now Magazine.

"She knows a prenup isn't the most romantic thing when someone's just proposed, but she'll do whatever's necessary to protect her multimillion-pound fortune," the source told No

More married couples are seeking prenuptial agreements, according to a recent poll of members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the Courier Post Online reports.

According to the poll, 73 percent of divorce attorneys said they perceive an increase in prenuptial agreements being signed over the past five years.

According to U.S. researchers, the ratio of men to women impacts marriage behavior and the age in which people get married, UPI reports.

In a recent study conducted by Daniel Kruger and his colleagues at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, the ratio of men to women was examined in the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. using data from the 2000 Census.

According to the study, when males outnumber females, the women marry younger, a result of the male desire to secure a partner.

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie Signed Prenup before Marrying

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Mike Comrie and actress Hilary Duff signed a pre-nuptial agreement before they got married recently, according to the New York Post.

The 29-year-old Comrie, who was recently signed by the Penguins, is the heir to a fortune in Canada that is estimated to be worth as much as $500 million, the news provider said. The fortune comes from his father, who was the founder of The Brick in Edmonton, a furniture and appliance retailer.
