Jon Huntsman's campaign manager resigns

With the 2012 Presidential Election just a little more than a year away, Republican contender Jon Huntsman has lost his campaign manager to resignation.

Susie Wiles told the Miami Herald she resigned due to the position becoming "an overwhelming commitment" and that she had signed on to get the campaign started but that it is now time to move on.

"In just under three months Governor Huntsman has returned from China, launched a campaign and created a strong infrastructure in the three early primary states," said John Weaver, a senior adviser to Huntsman. "Now the campaign is moving into phase two, which will be more aggressive from a messaging and tactical standpoint, and Matt is prepared to take that on."

Huntsman is the former governor of Utah and also served as ambassador to China. He is currently involved a crowded pool that includes Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty, to see who will run against President Obama in the 2012 election.
