According to CNN, the long-running political conflict in Somalia is making it hazardous for aid agencies to alleviate the damage being caused by the worst drought the country has seen in 60 years.

Parts of southern Somalia are struggling through their first famine in 19 years and the United Nations is urging relief groups and other international organizations to take action or the damages could spread.

With the 2012 Presidential Election just a little more than a year away, Republican contender Jon Huntsman has lost his campaign manager to resignation.

Susie Wiles told the Miami Herald she resigned due to the position becoming "an overwhelming commitment" and that she had signed on to get the campaign started but that it is now time to move on.

"In just under three months Governor Huntsman has returned from China, launched a campaign and created a strong infrastructure in the three early primary states," said John Weaver, a senior adviser to Huntsman.

Congress is under pressure from the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration bill before its expiration.

The FAA reauthorization bill will provide essential funding for safety upkeep and the promotion of civil aviation. The current FAA reauthorization bill has already been extended 21 times in the past three years preventing the FAA from long-term improvements and upgrades.

"Funding the FAA means funding safe air travel for millions of passengers each day," said Veda Shook, AFA International President.

President Obama continues to battle opposition from the Republican aisle of Congress regarding debt reduction and now faces opposition from his once loyal liberal supporters.

A CNN/ORC International Poll found the president's approval rating has dropped to 45 percent in large part due to disenfranchised liberals showing disappointment over the president's track record since he took office in 2009, states CNN.

Lambda Legal has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case of Oren Adar and Mickey Smith, a same-sex couple denied a birth certificate for their adopted son by the state of Louisiana.

According to the Miami Herald, Adar and Smith adopted their son in New York in 2006. Because the child was born in Louisiana, Adar and Smith requested the Louisiana state registrar issue a new birth certificate listing both men as parents.
