The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that it will not hear an appeal from a Fort Smith, Arkansas-based poultry company that has been ordered to pay $14.5 million to approximately 300 poultry farmers in Oklahoma.

The Associated Press reports that the farmers, who had contracts with the company to supply it with chickens, filed the lawsuit in 2002, claiming the firm manipulated lower prices for the chickens because it was the only buyer in the area.
