Conditional Judgment
A court order requiring alternative compensation to a plaintiff if the defendant fails to provide the relief originally ordered by the court. For example, a judge may order a lawnmower be returned to the plaintiff. If it is not returned, the conditional judgment orders that the plaintiff receive $1,000 from the defendant.
