How did you start your company?
I started as Computer Portrait Business in TriCounty with one booth in July 2001. The following Year I purchased Lasting Impression from Tri County which was in Business 30 Years and Merged the Business Together and opens 4 Booths and 2 years Ago I bought a system to put pictures on Gold & Silver Charms and updated my engraver to IS400 Gift Machine and increased Stock to cover Glass Engraved items, Make up Mirrors, Business Card Holders Mavado , Pill Boxes , Jewelry Boxes,etc. In August we moved the business to connecticut and work ecommerce . We started building and Creating our Website for the past two years.

What or who inspired you to go into business for yourself?I worked as an Accounting Manager for over 25 Years, and I needed to do something different with my life while the pay was good I just couldn't see myself krunching numbers and working for someone else and I was find it increasingly hard to stay in corp America. One Company I worked for 15 years I was head bookkeeper and had over 20 people under me and My boss reported to me. Only in America.
What were some of the startup hurdles you overcame?
I started a business in Computer Portrait and had to learn a new Trade, I never sold anyone anything in my life and had to learn Sales Methods, I didn't have working Capital and my husband had a purchased an alternator and starter Route 5 years earlier that had the Bridgestone Firestones on Long Island and they went nationwide with Bash and he lost his business and filed Banktrupcy and my credit was ruined and Through this I had gotten the business to 250K gross per Year and restored my Credit to 630 and showed my Income and needed 640 Credit Score to finally Get my Business Loan. I refinanced my home in Oct. 2005 and the title Company used the wrong payoff info and 397K Check was returned by Ameriquest twice and they marked down 90 Day late on my credit Score and I could not get my Business loan Gas prices rose and business slowed down and I could not maintain the rents which were 50K per Year and ultimately closed My Flea Market business and lost my home on Long Island.

I moved to Conn in 2006 and waited 10 weeks for an accountant to set up my LLC. After hearing that the paperwork was lost., refiled and still no answer with the papers I cancelled with him and used legalzoom and had my LLC in a Week.
