Tell us a little about your product or service.
We offer unique premium quality artistic designs in soap and spa bath/body products. In addition, we specialize in select home design fragrances, soy accent candles, and artful gifts/accessories. Our market is the bath & body connoisseur and those who would like to personalize the everyday with artistic expression and design. We offer unique fine essential and fragrance oils, infusions of rich plant butters and an array of artistic designs in everyday bath & body products. We believe that life should be savored and offer specialty items that engender joyful relaxation.
How did you start your company?
Having always been a devourer of fine and unusual soaps, our company started as an off-shoot to own handmade soaps. We networked with other bath & body designers to amass quite a large collection of unusual yet artful items. We have tried to tailor our store to a fun & fresh everyday theme. And, we try to cycle our product lines to always offer something new and different in everyday bath & body products.
It's soap...
What or who inspired you to go into business for yourself?It was a gradual realization that our products were marketable and that there was a special interest in the marketplace for them. There are literally thousands and thousands of bath & body web sites on the internet, but we wanted to offer a collection of some of the finest artful products available anywhere. Because we seek out only those products which are unusual but high quality, we have tried to differentiate ourselves with unusual presentation and superior service. Our business has become our passion. We love to show our clients our collections and how they can incorporate everyday care products such as soap into a special spa relaxation routine just for them.
What were some of the startup hurdles you overcame?
The hardest part of our business has been in developing quality advertising connections. There is a large market for our products, but communicating what we offer concisely and effectively through standard channels has been difficult at times. The internet is such a mass of information and ads, it's often a struggle to stand out and get people to take a look in our store. Many of our clients have told us they wished they had found us sooner. Our client base is growing rapidly and most of our clients are repeat customers who come into the store on a regular basis to see what's new and to stock up on their favorite items.
How has LegalZoom helped you in starting up your business?
Legal Zoom has been a consistent business partner from the outset. We had used Legal Zoom for personal legal documents prior to forming our business and were very pleased with the reliability and quality of the documents we received. Unfortunately, we made a bad early decision and were "sold" on using another "one stop" service which advertised the complete works of the various business and legal documents we needed for our start up operation. Needless to say, that firm overpromised and very much undelivered. We turned to Legal Zoom to complete the job and their folks did a superb job in helping us with our legal document filings. As a result, we'll always use Legal Zoom whenever we have basic legal document needs. Their reliability and consistency just can't be beat.
