If you don't have a plan, your property will be given out based on your state's laws. If you are married, your spouse will receive some or all of your property. In general, the portion not distributed to your spouse, or your entire estate if you are not married, will be given to your children. In many cases, your children will receive their share of the property when they turn 18. Generally, if you don't have children, that portion will be given to your parents, siblings, or other relatives, depending on state law and who is living at the time.
