Prenuptial Agreement Glossary

spousal support

Spousal support (also known as "Alimony") is money paid by one spouse to the other to maintain his or her customary standard of living.

The amount payable can be up to 40% of the paying spouse's net income after child support, less 50% of the amount of the supported spouse's net income if the supported spouse is working.

LegalZoom's prenuptial agreement allows spousal support to be waived by the recipient spouse.
