Can I start with dba and move it to an llc?
Jeffrey Lippman ∙ September 4, 2019
While this might be State specific, usually a DBA is merely a registered name for a business, which might be a sole proprietorship, etc. The owner of a DBA can transfer that ownership or license use to another, including a single person owned LLC. I recommend a full consultation with your LegalZoom provider firm, but anticipate there should not be any significant problems.
