I would like to trademark my logo mark and a tagline (not always used together). Would this be done in one tm search or would I need to pay for two separate searches?

It’s certainly possible to submit an application for both a tagline and a logo together. Please note that in doing so, if granted the registration, the two will only be protected together as they appear in the application, and will not receive individual protection.

If the items are not always used together and you would like to receive individual protection for each item, you must submit them in separate applications and two separate searches must be conducted. If you are unsure how you should proceed, we encourage you to consult with an attorney.
