What happens after I click 'Get a quote'?
You’ll answer a few simple questions online (things like the property’s value) and then we’ll email you a base quote on the practical information supplied. If you want to proceed then we will get in touch to finalise the information and answer any questions you may have. If you like the sound of that quote, just click the link in the email to get going. You’ll create an account and we’ll set you up on our online hub, so you’ll always be able to see at a glance what’s going on, using your phone, tablet or computer. Then you pay us an initial  deposit to cover any third party costs – dont worry, we have no move no legal fee for our fixed fees so until you exchange contracts on your home, our fees do not come due!. After that, you can use your phone to scan your documents– things like your driving licence. Doing it this way really speeds things up: what can take up to a month the traditional way happens in less than a week. And that means the overall process takes much less time.
What does having my own conveyancer mean?

It means that there is one highly skilled legal professional who’s dedicated to your case. They’ll keep in touch with you by phone or email, adapting to what you prefer. It means you don’t get passed from person to person.

They have plenty of support though. If your conveyancer’s ill or on holiday, a colleague will stand in for them. And there’s a team to back them up. Call during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm) and there’s always someone to tell you what’s going on and answer your questions. Outside office hours, there’s always the online hub, where you can check what’s happening and see your initial documents such as your terms and conditions. We think it’s the perfect combination of the personal touch and modern technology.

Does that mean there won't be any delays?

No – we wish we could promise that, but a lot of things are outside our control, including the people you’re buying from (or selling to), their conveyancers to other third parties like lenders or surveyors.

What are the main delays?

In our experience, the two biggest causes of delays are ‘source of funds’ and holidays. When you’re buying a house, you need to explain where the money’s come from and give evidence for it. It’s the law, but people often take a long time to come up with the evidence, and there’s nothing we can do to speed them up.

And then there’s holidays. When you use us, your own conveyancer’s holidays won’t delay things, because we have systems set up so their colleagues can step in and handle everything while they’re away. The other people’s conveyancer might not handle it so well though, so we might all be delayed because your seller’s solicitor’s sunning himself in the Bahamas.
