Tell us a little about your product or service.
We offer a professional petsitting service in The Clarks Summit, PA. area. We are Bonded and Insured for your protection. We do not outsource so you do not have to worry about other people coming into your home. We come to your home as often as you need to care for your pet and we try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. We believe little things are important, like cleaning up after your pet and turning lights on and off to have that "lived in look in your home". We bring in your mail and even vacuum after we are finished. We go above and beyond to care for your pets with regular walks and "playtime."
How did you start your company?
Margaret Mackay started a pet care service in Texas in 2000 when she realized the importance of leaving her pets with a reliable pet sitter, and not wanting to drive to and from a kennel and worry about not getting back in time to pick them up on a Sunday. At that point she decied to set up her own business. "My pets are part of my family" Margaret says and she wants you to know that you can go away and not worry about your pets while on vacation or away for business.

What or who inspired you to go into business for yourself?Having worked as a volunteer for many years with the Frisco Humane Society in Texas, I saw so many pets given away or dumped out because the owners did not want to deal with them when going away and they did not have any one to care for their pets. I decided that I could offer a service that would allow people to have pets and not have a huge expense with placing pets in kennels. I could offer an inexpensive form of petcare therefore allowing the owners to keep their pets and relax when away.
What were some of the startup hurdles you overcame?
One hurdle that I had to overcome was earning the trust of pet owners. I found over time that most pet owners became my friends and we were all one happy family. I kept in contact with people when they went away by calling them or emailing them with photographs of their beloved pets. This helped me form a bond between owner and pet.
How has LegalZoom helped you in starting up your business?
I feel I am more accepted by my clients now that I have formed a LLC and they feel better that I am now a legitimate "legal entity". I feel I am more respected now that I have the LLC after my name.
