Law firm announces new partner emphasizing white collar crime

Sidley Austin, LLP, a law firm in New York that specializes in white collar crime, announced the addition of David Rody to its firm in the role of partner.

Rody is a former United States Attorney's Office Unit Chief for the Southern District of New York where he served since 1998 and participated as lead or co-lead counsel on multiple jury trials of significance.

“It is an honor to be joining a world-class firm such as Sidley to further build on the firm’s white collar and litigation capabilities in New York,” Rody said. “The firm’s broad global litigation platform is very appealing to me, and I look forward to working with my Sidley colleagues, including Tim Treanor, with whom I worked closely during his service at the S.D.N.Y. U.S. Attorney’s Office, culminating as Deputy Chief of the Organized Crime Unit.”

Rody's work at Sidley Austin will include white collar crime and other matters as it pertains to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

White collar crime is also the focus of a new White Collar Criminal Defense College at Stetson University that is being billed as the first program of its kind.
