Former New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor is the subject of a recent lawsuit that alleges he was involved in sex trafficking.
The lawsuit contends Taylor forced an underaged girl to prostitute herself in a New York motel last year, after being beaten by a pimp until she agreed to an encounter with the former linebacker.
Taylor pleaded guilty in a criminal case related to this incident earlier this year, saying he ignored the bruises on the face of 16-year-old Cristina Fierro when she visited his room in the Suffern, New York, motel.
"Taylor, a 51-year-old former professional football player who is 6'3'' and approximately 240 pounds, forced himself on Ms. Fierro, a slight teenager who was not only visibly injured, shaken and crying, but expressly told him she did not want to engage in sex and tried to push his enormous body off hers," stated the federal suit. "He then handed her $300."
The latest lawsuit seeks more than $75,000 in monetary damages for Fierro.
Taylor was charged with statutory rape in the case. He pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute in March and was sentenced to six years of probation.
Taylor was forced to register as a sex offender in the plea deal and was listed as a low-risk offender in April, which protected him from a photo being publicly visible online.
