Kim Kardashian and soon-to-be husband Kris Humphries have declared their intention to sign a prenup prior to their marriage.

A prenuptial agreement can ensure that both parties are fairly compensated if the marriage takes a turn for the worse. The couple can decide which assets will be involved in the event of a divorce, and what can constitute a breach of the contract.
