Hulu, the popular website that streams TV shows and movies, has been sued for patent infringement by Rovi Corp.

Rovi alleges Hulu is infringing on three patents related to online TV program guides and search products.

AuthentiGuard Survivor 21, a technology that utilizes digital imagery to determine authenticity of paper documents such as car titles, medical records and other vital documentation, is one of the company's innovations that have been awarded a patent.

"This technology is a major breakthrough," said Michael Caton, chief technology officer at DSS.

The U.S. International Trade Commission will not review an appeal lodged by Apple in a patent lawsuit between the computer company and Kodak.

This ruling is the latest determination in a case that originated in January 2010, when Kodak sued Apple and Research in Motion for patent infringement.

Eagle Harbor Holdings, a technology company based in Washington state, alleges Ford has infringed upon multiple patents it holds, and has filed suit against the car maker in Tacoma District Court.

The lawsuit states Ford has been using Eagle Harbor audio communications technologies in certain vehicles, including the Sync, which features onboard phone and music features operated by voice command, the Seattle Times reports.

Eagle Harbor says Ford cut off ongoing talks in 2008 and started to illegally use patented technologies in its vehicles shortly after.

The House of Representatives recently passed legislation that would change the way that the government treats intellectual property, CNN reported.

A bill entitled 'The America Invents Act' passed with a vote of 304-117 after the Senate approved similar legislation in March.
