Today, we’re excited to share that LegalZoom is supporting more lawyers on ChatGPT Enterprise through its plugin.


We’re expanding our existing LegalZoom plugin in ChatGPT with new tools that bring together LegalZoom’s two decades of experience in online legal services with the OpenAI platform. These tools were built based on our industry expertise in powering LegalZoom’s nationwide independent attorney network and proprietary law firm. This expanded plugin now puts more LegalZoom technology in front of a vast network of lawyers — giving attorneys new ways to put frontier AI to work across the day-to-day tasks that make up legal practices.


Our aim to help small businesses stay compliant means both directly offering the tools to small businesses themselves, and offering lawyers new capabilities on behalf of their small business clients. Our expanded plugin helps attorneys handle business formations, trademark filings, and identify the business licenses their clients might need — all more efficiently. Handling these process-heavy parts of a legal practice allows lawyers to dedicate more time to strategic client work, knowing they can rely on LegalZoom for trusted support.


So what does the new plugin look like in practice? Legal services that once took hours of manual lookups and paperwork can now be completed in minutes. Specifically, the plugin brings three of LegalZoom’s core services to attorneys:

    • Business Formations — Attorneys will be able to form business entities on behalf of clients directly through the LegalZoom plugin, drawing on LegalZoom’s existing formation infrastructure, now tuned for an attorney audience.
    • Trademark Application Assistance — Attorneys can describe a client’s goods and services in plain language, and the tool suggests corresponding USPTO-standard identification language. Attorneys can review, edit, and refine the suggested wording in real time, reducing manual lookup time and helping streamline application preparation.
    • Business License Research — Attorneys can quickly translate plain-English descriptions of a business activity into the relevant industry classifications, licensing requirements, and estimated licensing burden, helping them speed up lookups and legal checks.
